‘Let’s Beat COVID Together’ Public media campaign organized by PHF for health literacy on COVID-19

May 27, 2020: People’s Health Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Sports had launched the “Let’s beat COVID together” public media campaign staring from mid-April 2020, with funding support from special COVID-19 Grant of the Partnerships for Healthy Cities project of Bloomberg Philanthropies.

Public Media campaign includes radio messages, TV Spots, education messages in cartoons, creation of special FB page, etc.

The campaign is on-going and preliminary results are:

  • Buy-in of the Ministry of Health and Sports, which has approved and endorsed the Campaign materials and airtime/media space requests
  • 4 Radio spots about safe protective behavior have been aired in high rotation by Myanma Athan (state radio) and Padamyar FM. Myanma Athan airs one of the 4 spots every day and Padamyar airs each of the four spots once every day. Donated airtime value sofar approximately USD 27,297. Both stations have indicated they will keep airing as long as he COVID crisis continues.
  • Space in newspapers donated by nationwide leading newspapers 7 Day, Kyemon and Myanma Ahlin. All three have run six campaign protective behavior illustrations, with accompanying text, on their pages. Estimated value approximately USD 3,600.
  • 75,400 followers for the Facebook page. Expect to have 150,000 followers at campaign end.
  • 73,400 Post likes
  • 2,439,559 total online reach
  • High average engagement rate of Facebook posts of approximately 10%
  • TV spot that focuses on physical distancing will be on national TV channels in fully donated airtime, by end-May 2020
