Briefing to Parliamentarians on tobacco and alcohol taxation in Myanmar was organized on 27 July 2019, at Mingalathiri Hotel, Nay Pyi Taw. It was attended by 45 Parliamentarians, 10 senior staff from relevant ministries such as Health, planning and finance, general administration, and technical staff from World Bank, SEATCA and PHF. the briefing was on how tobacco saves lives, Union Taxation law, how to deal with alcohol taxation, and future taxation policies on tobacco and alcohol.
