Yangon, 8 December 2020: The Ministry of Health and Sports is planning to organize a seminar (Zoom Meeting) on 23 December 2020 at Nay Pyi Taw, to review of progress on establishing smoke-free places in all Regions and States, including Nay Pyi Taw. The meeting will review the progress of implementation on establishment of smoke-free places in all Regions and States, and had consensus on moving forward for establishing more smokefree places. Recommendations will also be made to establish model townships/places of 100% smoke free places, such as Smoke-free Heritage Places, Smoke-free Townships, Smoke-free Ancient Cities, Smoke-free Ancient Pagodas, etc.

Regional/State Public Health Directors from respective State/Regions, senior health officials from MoHS, and PHF will join the review.
